Armando Cantu

Armando Cantu, Cardboard Project FounderCARDBoard Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded November 2, 2016 by Armando Cantu “to bridge the digital gap and educate our under-resourced communities about the importance of having access to the Internet and assistance navigating.” The organization has been successful with providing digital access to jobs, job readiness programs, digital education, housing, medical assistance, transportation and much more for the homeless, under-served, and under employed of the local communities.

Prior to creating CARDBoard Project (CBP) Armando had served the public assisting as a volunteer lead for over a decade with various charitable organizations. As a process engineer, his experience helped him design various internal websites and internal databases, increasing communication efficiency and time management, and analyzing audit results to determine certification program needs. He also developed and implemented training and testing plans, assisted in the development and strategic direction of process certification programs, obtained certification testing requirements, and maintained testing products through evaluation, research and use of outside resources. These skills have served him well in directing his non-profit and being able to implement effective methodology to more effectively provide benefits to those in need.

Preparing for this opportunity to better serve the community. Armando achieved Non-Profit Management Certification, a 5 CEU from Collin County Community College, where his efforts found him featured on the cover of their Careers Skills Training Fall 2018 catalog. “The Collin County Community College Continuing Education certificate series is what influenced me the most.” Also, Mr. Cantu received his Internet Marketing Certification, a 5 CEU from Collin County Community College as well.

Besides being recognized by Collin County Community College, Mr. Cantu has received recognition for his charitable efforts from CSL Dallas, Cornerstone Baptist Church, The State Fair of Texas, and his story has been featured on DFW Fox News.
